I'm close to finishing my Lincoln Wheat cent collection and am planning on moving it to a bigger more secure album. In the past I've used Dansco for everything. However I've been searching the web and found a nice littleton album. I know their have been other threads on this but for lincoln wheat cents which do you prefer and why?
Thanks!

I prefer dansco. Most others probably would say the same. I believe Littleton does have the archival quality albums out now so you should be fine as far as protection. Littleton uses the binder system and especially for the Lincoln series, it's a huge binder. As a counter point some people don't think the brown (or RB) color of cents goes very well with the beige color of Dansco albums, and thus prefer the blue whitman or a green or white color.

I don't think you are moving up in protection with a Littleton vs. dansco, in fact, if you use the anti-corrosion Dansco slip case, you might be moving down.

pennyman, why would you not want to use the dansco with proofs? Is it because of the plastic slide contacting the coins as you slide it in and out to add or remove coins? Also, what would be best for proofs?

There is your answer. Why change now?

I use Dansco, so my support for them is biased.

I have never used Littleton, so I cannot say anything about them.

Also, I have proofs in my Dansco albums; no complaints. Keep them in a stable environment (low humidity, minimal temperature fluctuations) and you should be okay.

You could always start a new coin set and test the Littleton album out to see how it works out. I wouldn't spend all that money moving a bunch of sets over though.
