Grading question but also does this look like a CC/CC?
Thanks again for any and all input.

It looks like there is bumps inside the loop, maybe its like the surface of the coin around the CC.

I think this is a 63 at least and the mintmark is very interesting.

Here is close up pic from vamworld along with explanation.

COMMENTS: The VAM-3 Capped Die variety shows die chips around the mintmark believed to be a large mintmark stamped over a small one. The remaining mintmark chips are thought to be caused from attempts to obliterate the smaller underlying mintmark from the die with engraving tools.

Its a VAM 3 as noted, also this one has the filled G found on some not all of this type..Another go! for the vam3 ID. and the marks inside and around the bow are the filing marks from the mint attempting to repair the area...doesn't look this it succeeded..its a commonly seen often on many Morgan coins, not date or mint mark specific.
That's a big money coin! I think

Wow! That's a nice 79-CC!
That coin is worth some serious dough!

If it were me, I'd send it to a top TPG for grading. There is a substantial $$$ difference between each of the MS grades on this one.

MS 64 to me. I agree on having it slabbed for protection as well as authenticity.

MS-64, have that submitted or store it very carefully if you're an experienced collector. How'd you get this?

Another beauty! This one should come in at least 63 from a TPG.

Absolutely gorgeous coin!
This is a coin that you should seriously consider slabbing. I think this would slab this coin as a MS-64.

Shadow - it is part of one of my previous posts on 10/9 -
CC Morgan set (minus 1) - I had just graduated from roll searching to type collecting. Was at a coin show in '62 @ Geauga Lake, OH - admired the look of the Morgans in the black Capital holder and my dad bought it for me. Don't remember the price. I am considering getting it graded but have no idea how to go about it or which TPG to use. I would want the VAM attribution. Looking forward to any and all suggestions.
