I would like more info on this coin if someone can help;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...:ONA:US:1120
It's listed as 1937 Chinese but I can't find info on it. I'd like to know the actual place of mintage, number of mintage, and value. I've purchased from this seller before and I don't think English is one of his languages.

The inscription translates as "Republic of China 26 Year" which would be 1937.

The denomination is "yi fen" which is "one fen".

I have a Chinese catalog that says this coin was minted in Shanghai. It is considered "very common" and was worth about 10 yuan ($1.50) in 2010.

Thanks for the info Gary, but it still won't show up on NumisMaster.com. I'm seeing quite a price range, $1-$180, for these so I need a more up to date value.

It should be on NumisMaster somewhere. Here's the NGC page, which uses NumisMaster's data.

For this type, years 25 and 26 are common, years 27 and 28 less so.

There are a couple RED FLAGS on this auction.

Chinese seller - but more importantly. He has posted the IDENTICAL coin a second time. The coin he is now selling has the same light spot that is on the coin sold already.

So either the auction is a fraud because the picture is incorrect or he is making them in the back room.

I've purchased from this seller before and was quite happy with the coin I received. I'm more inclined to believe he used a stock photo just like a million other sellers. Also, a red flag should not go up just because he is Chinese. It's a Chinese coin for Christ's sake. Where should I look for them? Walmart?

Using a "stock" photo without clearly saying that you are doing so - IS FRAUD and is a violation of ebay rules on top of that. It is an unacceptable practice under ANA rules as well.

Regarding Chinese sellers - there are no rules covering forgery and 9 out of 10 coins coming out of mainland China are FAKES even the cheap ones.
