I have the opportunity to buy a small collection of V nickels (42 to be exact) and was wondering what a safe price to offer would be. Assuming that all of them are common dates and mints and G condition.

If they have all full rims and at least G-4, I would say $1 a piece, but more than likely you won't get full rims, and if that's the case 75 cents a piece max... But that's just my opinion, and you should wait till the experts chime in... Good luck

I think the $1 per coin is a bit low unless they are basically all 1900+ and kinda ugly. If there is a better mix there, including the 1890s and 1880s and if at least a few are VGs or Fs...I think you're ok paying $60, even $70 for the lot. Unless I had a garbage lot of 1905 culls I'd be insulted if someone offered me $35 or less for 42 V nickels

I have been checking e-bay and I have been seeing a few " unsearched" rolls of Buffalo's and Liberty nickels. I am thinking about getting a roll and seeing what I get. I did have a nice of Shield nickels and sold them off a 10+ years ago.

Unsearched rolls are anything but. If you are lucky, they will not be whizzed or severely corroded. As long as you are good with that, then you will not be disappointed.
