I thought I would show you guys this coin I just bought. I don't have any of either emperor featured on the obverse, and it was in my price range. It is not the best coin in the world but I am happy with it. Let me know what you think!

Nice pickup. Just in case you haven't attributed it:
Markianopolis Moushmov 565:
OBV: Confronted heads of Macrinus and Diadumenian REV: VP PONTIANOU MARKIANOPOLEITWN, Nemesis-Aequitas standing left with scales & cornucopiae, wheel at side, E to right.

Thanks guys! It looks like this is a scan of the coin, so I imagine it will look better in person. Only question is....do I enter it in my database as Macrinus or Diadumenian? P.S. the price after shipping was $14.

JW, I just revisited this coin and I think that it may in fact be different than what we had originally concluded. The obverse has the lettering ...EA CEV MAKPEINOC K M OREA... while the reverse is what you had pointed out. I believe that Moushmov 565 has a different obverse legend than this. Upon looking through the internets I found only one other coin with this obverse legend...but the reverse had a different image. Could this be unlisted?

It's a nice coin, not the highest grade, sure. But it is attributable. That's what I usually go for when looking for coins, if the high grade version is out of my budget range.
I don't know enough about these coins to help.

I've seen this Roman provincial up for sale, but nowhere near $14--nice details!

HEY! Don't double check me, you might find out I have no idea what I'm talking about. You are correct on this. Markianopolis Moushmov 565 has no obverse legend so that can't be correct. Let me start looking when I have a chance to see what I might find. I'm a little hampered this weekend as my wife had a procedure done on her spine on Friday so I'm playing nurse, chief cook and bottle washer for the time being. I'll look as I have time. Maybe someone who really knows what they are doing can help out with this. Sorry for the mistake. It's not my first nor will it be my last I'm afraid.

And I hope I did not come across as being rude when I said we were wrong the first time...it was not meant to be We all make mistakes. I thank you for taking a second look when you have time, JW. I am perplexed on this one. I am hoping that it is indeed an unlisted variety, but most likely it will not be. Best of luck to you and your wife. I wish her a speedy recovery.
