German as far as the language is concerned. Austrian in terms of countries.
Nice theme indeed. And --

Merry Christmas!

If you look at the bottom of my post you will see My Banknotes and My Coins , but this only a real real small sampling of my collection. And I do mean that with Humility and Not meaning for the boastful words, but only the truth. My goal some day is to get all of mine on line On my own Website or page or what ever I am working on Some of Military items , they are mostly AMerican Medals That I have Been awarded myself and myabe 10 -12 Patches and 10-12 Medals From Iraq. In My home STate of PA I do HAve some Old gear, and Clothes at My PArents house In a old WW II Foot locker

Nice collection, scoutjim! I hope DaBoz does not mind my somewhat OT comments ...

not sure of country and tear I think russia
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=902052
That one is from Kyrgyzstan.

These notes however ...
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=901269
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=901270
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=901271
... are from Kazakhstan.

Here is another one from Austria:
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=901294

This note is from Germany indeed ...
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=901165
... but it was issued by a Bavarian bank; maybe that is why it's not in your book

The Bank Deutscher Länder ...
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=901051
... was established in the Western occupation zones in 1948 (currency reform), and replaced by the Deutsche Bundesbank in 1957. So I guess this note is from 1948.

This one ...
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=901025
... is from Latvia indeed, before the ruble was replaced by the lats (issued in 1920, I think)

Austria again :
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=900843

This is some kind of check, I think ...
http://www.banknotebank.com/coin_vi...px?id=900714
It is also listed in the "Penzjegyek" section of this page:
http://www.akm.externet.hu/km/penz/...sz/index.htm

Interestingly, if you click that Penzjegyek link, you can read something (in Hungarian) about America and Philadelphia. Apparently it was printed there, see
http://bankjegy.szabadsagharcos.org...nxix03.shtml
This example has a date (15 March 1853):
