VG-8 ? Also, is this verdigris and if so what if anything can be done? It appears black on the coin, not green.

The reverse has F details, thats just dirt or buildup, dont need to do anything to the coin IMO.

Since grading in this range involves how visible LIBERTY is, I wouldn't want to undergrade based on one pic.
By Rick Snow's grading guide, A VG8 is defined by 3 visible letters in LIBERTY. I think I see that much, I would lean toward VF10, but perhaps that nick near the date puts it at VG8?

The reverse is at least a F15 or VF. Denticles are weak on the obv which is probable die wear. Given that set of circumstances an overall grade of VG10 or F12 should be achieved, and being a key date and original condition is a big plus in drawing the higher grade being considered by a TPG. nlp

I think it might make F12. The reverse is considerably stronger than VG.

Very nice looking coin! That dark buildup around the devices is just dirt/crud from circulation. Nothing to worry about.
Rest in Peace

The reverse to me looks every bit VF-20, with the obverse at VG-8 I would say, net grade F-15.

Nice key date Indian.

No way I can give it a F12. I would say it makes VG10.

VG-11, how's that?

Really, to not just give that a VF reverse away, I'd think I'd be asking F-12 on this.

I think it would slab F-12. Here is my NGC F-12 for comparison. My obverse is a bit stronger, and your rev is stronger. I don't think the debris on the obverse is corrosion or anything close to it.
