Hey guys,
I found my first 2011 Coat of Arms 50c in my change today. I was wondering if anyone else has found one? Had a look on the RAM website and couldn't see anything regarding the coin.
Cheers

First one I've seen reported anywhere! Good one! No sign of any here in Brissy. The 2010-2011 Annual RAM Report should be out next month. Early minting figures for 2011 coins will be in it, but final figures won't be known until the 2011-12 Report is released.

I've found none in country Vic (south east) either. We are still getting a lot of 2010 50c released in my area at the moment. The other day I got $400 in 50c coin and all were 2010 coat of arms. Not sure what to do with them yet!?!?! The 2011 could be a little way off.

Quote: The other day I got $400 in 50c coin and all were 2010 coat of arms. Not sure what to do with them yet!?!?! I assume you are referring to Armaguard (or other) rolls. If you are, I put aside the Head/Tails. I open the Head/Head and check for Gems and errors. If there are a number of errors, I might then open the H/Ts. Otherwise I put aside the H/Ts for a rainy day. They are always worth face value and usually a little more to a roll collector like me. 50 Cent gems are real hard to come by. I'm talking about coins with an absolute minimum of bag marks, preferably none.

Hi Yass. All of the coins are in security bags so most will have some small bag marks. I hate the security bags (I also prefer rolls) but most/all of the banks in my area have converted to them now. I doubt if I'd be able to find any gems. I might have to try and sell some and see how I go.

@ Gecko, I'm in Perth, the coin itself is in reasonable condition, a few marks from either the bag or previous handling overall though, not bad. Really curious to see the mintage of this one, from whats already been talked about for 2011 it seems like a low mintage year.

Me and the wife have only found a 2011 50c coat of arms in 'Which Bank' bags each this week. Only bought $60 worth of 50c coins. All were bagged up in the plastic bank bags. I havent found any bank here in S.A. that sells the coins in rolls. Anyone know of any banks here? I prefer the rolls as the tellers here sort them out into bags in front of you and I'm sure thaey only give you the coat of arms ones not the commemorative....

You need both the 10-11 and 11-12 annual reports for a total mintage, so total mintage till June is 3.960 million. Wow thats rare, no 1890 Hong Kong 50 cents piece.

Yeah I know that both of the reports are required but its still an encouraging sign of low mintage.
