All this recent talk of Torex has me itching to go to a coin show... anyone else from this forum planning to go to Montreal this weekend? Fair enough Zonad. Happy hunting in Edmonton, and say hello to the ENS members for me.
We'll compare notes, and lucky finds, the following weekend...

A packed bourse floor today. I mean, really packed... a really good "collector's" show, head and shoulders above Torex at least with respect to the bourse. The dealers really like this show, they like the fact that the auction is not a heavy affair, because the collectors tend to shop on the bourse. Tons of good digging and cherry picking. Some of these Quebec dealers are variety fanatics, right down to catalogued Zoell varieties... quite impressive actually. Cherry-picked a few goodies, including an 1881 single serif N from a junk bin, also picked up a wicked, triple clipped, 1982 Constitution Dollar. Oh yeah, Montreal smoked meat sandwiches.... Mmmm ... tres bon!

I also found a triple clipped 1982 constitution dollar this weekend at the Nuphilex show. But mine also happened to be a blank planchet. On coinsandcanada.com there is a picture of a clipped dollar and mine have the same clips. I would love to know who posted the picture to compare.

Sounds neat! Can you post the link to the picture of the one posted on coinsandcanada.com?

I went to the Nuphilex coin show last weekend and got myself a 1925 Vg cent to complete my small cent in George V and a very fine 1925 nickel. Theese were some of my wants. I've paid 28$ for the cent and 120$ for the nickel. But something bugged me about that show. I went sunday at 2PM and it was scheduled to end at 4PM, when I arrived at 2PM about three quarters of the dealers already had packed up. I felt disrespect from those dealers. I've been happy tough because I've bought some nice common MS coins from a dealer at 60% trend.

I started packing up at 3:30... next time, come around to the back of the room, introduce yourself, and say 'hello'. I met a few CCF members over the weekend there...
