2012 Proof And Mint Sets - Love The 50c Coins!

Couldn't resist the wonderful job the RAM has done with these two 50c coins. Now the hard part, picking which sets I am going to trash to extract the 50c's from! Report this Post to the Staff

I was thinking of getting the cute sets but way too expensive to buy in one go, will have to start saving up for them. I noticed on the mintage numbers that the mint have expected them to be popular and have made huge mintages for them. 50,000 proof set 100,000 mint set Bay set are unlimited, crazy Report this Post to the Staff

steve - Oz 50c man Valued Member Australia 490 Posts	Posted 11/02/2011 01:46 am yeah, it was hard cracking open my first set, a '69 proof set, I still remember it well - I felt really guilty... especially as the 50c didn't have any of the spotting on the observe like so many from that year do. but the more you do it the less guilty you feel... that kinda sounds rude, but wasn't meant too! and the guilt is off-set by the rush of seeing another great coin in the album of course... sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 11/02/2011 01:51 am I don't collect NCLT these days, but I have to admit that the RAM's standard of workmanship on these productions is quite high. I am just a little miffed that the sand blasting of the dies to produce the cameo effect is way too harsh. IMHO, too much detail is lost. The British Royal Mint does a better job in this regard.
