Looks like a medal to me. Defenetlly not ancient.

Looks like the loop on the top has been removed. Since that loop is on the top of both sides, that makes is a medal "style" vs coin (where the obverse is upside down compared to the reverse).

Looks like it's marked .800 which would not surprise me for a medal. Nice, where'd you find it?

I believe that it is a pigeon racing prize medal, although I would usually expect these to be inscribed. Origin probably European rather than UK, as British medals were slightly more utilitarian. Date I'd expect to be around 1920s.
