Just won a fairly Rough 1901 O morgan off ebay, Nice thing is that I paid only 28 dollars on it so I think its a good deal. To me it doesn't appear to be cleaned but I'm probaly wrong lol

Considering the spot price on that is $26.40, I think you did pretty good.

To me it does not look cleaned either. Just a bit worn after having been around the block many times. For $28, I think you did just fine.

Unless they bagged it coal for sometime, its not a cleaned coin, but only worth melt..Still cool to see an original coin, as most are not....

I agree it has been around a good long time. It has probably seen its share of poker hands. Nice wear and and you didnt pay too much for it.

I thought I'd post this here rather than start a whole nother thread. As long as we're on the subject of morgans, what does the membership think of this one? Looks wierd to me. Seller admits it's been cleaned but it looks fake to me

if it was cleaned it was probably on metal that has already worn off. I do not see any indication that it has been cleaned in the past 60 years or so, just true wear and patina
