Just saw this one on ebay. When did PCGS start using this gold shield logo? This is the first time I've seen it? Is it some sort of "premium" certification, a fake slab, or ?

It's called Secure Plus. Something they did to add confidence for the buyer/seller.

That is the "secure plus" holder, where they laser scan the coin, and use the "sniffer" to detect anomolous substances on the coin before holdering....The service is supposed to recognize if the coin ever gets stolen and resubmitted, or something like that. They've been doing it for a year or 2 as an extra service.

I think I would rather have a coin with the cac sticker on it. Seems they can command a better site un seen price a little more but if you got the quality coin why not?
