Somehow I have to figure out how to stop myself from buying coins I don't need.

I do like it when coins are a good deal, but how can I learn to say no.

Picked these up this past week
1956, 1957, 1958 and 1962 proof sets and a 1966 SMS.
Also all proof sets between 1968 through 2007 (except 1984)
also a small mix of mint sets.

I think I might be getting to the point where I have to start selling stuff .. my safe is getting full.

A good deal, is a good deal! I am sure that I would have done the same thing. What a nice lot of sets!

Yeah, if you got a good deal then don't regret it. Besides, if you realize you need to liquidate some of these go through them and keep the better ones. That's what I did as I had a bunch of the 65-60 sets and a bunch of the UNC 70's sets and I kept the best and unopened ones and sold off the rest. I hate to sell coin, but, sometimes space, and funds dictate otherwise.

and ended up breaking them all open ...putting them in 2X2's and now the coins are just
sitting in my boxes.

Thanks for the the reply TJ ... where area of Alabama are you in?

I have tried selling on here a few times .. and don't mind doing so,
it is just hard to figure out what a good price to sell at.

I might have to start watching the wanting to buy section.

I do like busting open these sets .. I like the thought of having a complete set
of proof Lincolns and Jeffersons back to 1950. Just not sure how I would like to display them.
I am not a big fan of putting proof coins in a Dansco, although I really like dansco albums.

GR58-I personally do not own Dansco's but just have mine in binders. I have thought of buying some nice cases I have seen online that can house 2x2's. I think one is made by Lighthouse. There are others that are metal that house quite a few coin's. Just have to have a place to store them. Guess one thing at a time. Maybe my wife will get me some.....and Hades may freeze over too! lol

I hear you coinut ... maybe your wife really will suprise you

I do have a couple of the lighthouse metal coin cases, I might have to look into
getting another one. They might have trays that holds smaller than 2X2's that would
work with air tite holders .. be nice to be able to put a couple hundred coins.

GR52-I saw some nice ones on shopnumismaster.com. Some holds up to 378 Dimes, 180 halfs or one that can hold 288 Quarters.

"Somehow I have to figure out how to stop myself from buying coins I don't need."

Now, that statement made me laugh. I know that's my problem for sure. How many coins does one need?

But here's the thing. Having a bunch of coins you don't "need" is not a big problem in that they don't take up much space, they don't need any upkeep to speak of, and if you buy them right you can nearly always get your money out if needed. Least that's what I tell my wife.

But I can't think of too many things I'd rather have "too many" of, and after all it's not like I'm the guy with too many cats, or houseplants, or too many ex wives...

OH MY GOODNESS ! ...... .....

Proof coins look INCREDIBLE in a Dancso album in my opinion ! ....

I would consider doing another line of albums with these coins ! BUILD MORE SETS !

Don't feel bad. I picked up this set, 68-77, yesterday. Not 44 of them, but I didnt really NEED these per se. I will break them and fill a couple holes and sell some in all likelyhood. But at no more than 8 a set, I couldnt NOT get them. If I wasnt getting other items, I would have gone at least to the 90's.
