Got the coins today from the "junk silver" Walker lot I posted earlier. Graded them after a quick soap and distilled water rinse: 1945 VF30 x 3, VF35 x 2, XF40 x1; 1946 VF35 x2. I just received this lovely 1856 Braided Hair Large Cent that I got for $59. The actual color is a deeper brown. I'll have to photograph it again in natural light. It's by far the nicest Large Cent I've ever owned.  Paul Bulgerin

Local vest pocket dealer called Wednesday with "just bought a large collection....can you come over". Oh....okay, I guess that I could. Purchased: Incomplete set of Lincoln cents from 09 through 57. Only noteworthy coin - 12 D with some red (not cleaned) in high AU or low MS. The 12 D IS an upgrade for my set. Book of Indian cents - no key dates, of course. Had two 1875's though - F and VF. Book of Jefferson nickels. 38, 38 D, and 50 D are UNC. Turns out the first 38 P, is actually a 38 D. ....and, set of Kennedy halves from 64 through 2010 - with several satin finish included as extras. Paid face value plus a little for the 90% and 40%. He was surprised that I bought the set. Told him, quite a few are nice UNC's and I would spend 10X in TIME putting this together. So, will toss the less than stellar, buy a nice book, and start collecting these. No 70 D in the set (I have a spare though!) |

Since I'm new to the Forum, my post is a coin that goes back almost a year. But it's a nice 1882 IHC MPD Snow 6, remnants of a two "1"s in the necklace. ANACS MS62 BN. Anyone ever seen the other 1882 Snows around?   |

Welp, I have been busy! We had our coin clubs Live Auction yesterday, and unfortunetly I did not bid on the item I wanted and it ended up not even selling for a fraction of what I would have given for it... In fact, IT Didnt even sell at all!(long story). However, I was still able to make some decent purchases, and for $26 I was able to buy 5, count em, 5 Barber quarters. All philly. Dates: 1892 1897 (2X) 1898 1899  So not TOO bad... I was also able to purchase my first silver ike, a nice looking 1971 S UNC in OGP. Price? $6.95      So that's it for coin club pick ups (exept for a 1960 brilliant proof quarter that I got for free) but I was able to snag a really nice coin off ebay... 1944 NGC MS-66 (Old Holder) For $25 Sucker for the toning     WOW that was a lot.. Welp, I also received some more wheat cents from a friend on here that I didnt post, but shout out to CoinFrog for being awesome! Edited by ChildOfTheWheat

Some more modest victories from the junk silver department. I'll have to call this lemon-picking, these are far from cherry. 1890-O Morgan dollar, melt: $12.45, paid: $19   1902 Barber 25c, melt: $2.91, paid: $2.99   1935, 1935-D, 1937, and 1944 Walking Liberty 50c, melt: $23.26, paid: $29 (The 1935 is my new pocket piece, lowball Walker, here we come!)
