So, our Indian Head cent collection is mostly mid-grade, and none of them is uncirculated. Last week I asked my husband what the minimum cost of a BU IHC, and he says about $50. So, yesterday he comes home from the coin shop and hands me this, explaining that he hoped to demonstrate how he was right. Of course, he knew this would be my new obsession. I wish I could capture the shimmer in the photos. I am so excited! So begins my new IHC set, finally, and here - the official first coin:

Nice mama! Your hubby sounds like a keeper My other half said: "Why don't you clean those dirty coins? If I collected I would want them to be clean and shiny. Have you tried silver cleaner?" Arggggg

coinfusion, that's hilarious! To top it all off, I just found out that last week when he told me $50, APPARENTLY he had already picked out the coin and just hadn't picked it up yet. Which is why.. you know.. he said fifty. Ha.

This just came in yesterday... and after giving it a good look, leaves me wondering why it's not in an MS-65 holder. ET

Child- CAC's green bean does NOT mean undergraded (go read their site). It means solid for the grade.
They divide coins within a grade into A, B and C coins.
A "C" coin just made it. An "A" coin just missed the next higher grade. A "B" coin is an honest, properly graded whatever.
As and Bs get green beans. Cs and overgraded coins do not get a bean.
A tiny fraction that CAC feels are truly undergraded get Gold beans (it actually means solid for the next higher grade). So a MS64 gold would be an MS65 green.

Burton: C coins (that CAC feels are overgraded) get blue beans. :) Newps: 1867 Two Cents, XF40+ (CCF), K-1, major obverse and reverse die cracks. 1888 Liberty Seated 10c, AG+, for $1.99 (!) YABBI - Yet Another Brown Box Ike, 1971-S, OGP, for $9 free ship To me, any Brown Box under $10 is a good deal. Cool old "bookshelf" coin bank, 1950s-1960s? It has a coin or two inside, but I have no key, and don't want to drill it open. 1965 LMC from pocket change this week, pretty nice?

I won these three Buffalos on ebay today. The seller said the 1913 is a Type I, but it's a Type II. All are listed as BU. They cost me $29. These are obviously the seller's photos.
