The 10 dollar Indian is my favorite US gold coin design, maybe because of its ties to Adolph Weinmann who designed my beloved Mercury dime and The Walking Liberty half dollar. Augustus St Gaudens designed the 10 Dollar Indian, but due to his deteriorating health, the actual execution of the design was performed by Adolph Weinmann. The fine scratch in front of the forehead and the whitish stutter from the nose into the cheek are both on the holder.
