Bought last Saturday. Not the type I ever expected to be able to add to my 7070...

1801 Draped Bust large cent. Best I can tell it's probably S-216, but I'm not very confident.
The date is clearer in hand. Those photos just suck.

The ugly scar on Liberty's head is unfortunate, but probably contributed to the price (about $3).

Thank you! I was so pleased to find them for sale. Now I need to find the 2013 pair.

Finally scratched off another Washington quarter from my list for the first time in over a year and a half, which also completes one of my numismatic goals for the year!

My "most recent" is actually my VERY FIRST coin purchase from a dealer.

I didn't know that there was a Golden Spike (Utah) State Quarter. Being a railfan, once I saw the design I HAD to have one!

I decided to treat myself and picked up a proof. Maybe someday I will come across a regular one in my change.

(for the record, the only other coin I ever ordered was a set of 3 Lowell MA quarters from the Mint)

I went to the PCGS website for the first time and looked up the code on the label, which was neat. Learned some stuff there. I see how you all got hooked into this hobby!

A second snag from last night. I've held the opinion that the early memorial proofs are the most attractive of the series, and also the toughest. Especially in the 1959-61 period DCAM proofs are extremely tough, the DCAM examples you usually see listed on most other years would be CAM so true DCAMs from that period are an underappreciated rarity IMO. Regardless I realized I was missing one from my collection so I snagged this for $20 last night. While I'm still looking for a true DCAM of the 59-61 period I think this is a very nice example.
