I have a chance at a bunch of rolls of BU LMCs. There is one roll of BU 1958 and two 1959 and one 1959-D and about 40 rolls of various 1960's dates. What would you pay per roll? Everyone's input is appreciated.

It depends, if they are beautiful and BU I'd see what the owner wants. Usually you pay less that way. As a guide, and this date or mint mark independent, I'd pay up to triple face for a roll of BU memorial cents.

I would avoid pre-1965 dates. There are just too many and there will not be a viable market at any time in the foreseeable future. If you want to pick them up just for fun to look through them for gems and varieties then go ahead and pay bid then spend the rejects or add them to your junk copper.

The post-'64 dates might be worth a little fling but none of these are really likely to get much attention as rolls either. The '66 is underpriced but it might take years to make just a few dollars. The '69 is OK and the '69-S might be fun to check for the DDO. It's worth a big premium if it's Michigan or nearby.

I'd tend to avoid them all except to search.

I would avoid them completely unless you get a ridiculous price like $1 per roll. It doesn't sound like you want them for yourself. It's not worth the time to try and sell the individual coins. If you check ebay you'll see winning bids will barely cover your shipping. These were all hoarded back in those days. Lincoln rolls aren't worth your while unless you can get a 60PD SD or once you get into 30's. Maybe a few from the 40's.

For that matter, rolls in general are not worth your while unless you pick one up where each coin has its own premium and has demand....or if you're running a website that sells modern BUs and then it'll take you 5 years to sell off one roll of common coins

I agree with the others. I collect rolls and have found the 60's to be easily had from anywhere between $1.50 and $3.00 depending on the mint/date. I'm happy as the prices are fairly cheap. Get into the 80's and the prices are significantly higher.

Well, I took the plunge and got them all at $1.50 a roll including the 1958 roll. It is so nice to see crispy mint wheat cents. I know the date isn't anything special but new looking wheats rock no matter what year :-) I figured at $1.50 a roll I am not far off from "melt" so you really can't lose too much.
