This is a funny conversation! My wife thought my searching was silly at first but now she very much supports me. She won't let me stop actually! And she helps sometimes. I started with pennies, then nickels and dimes. We inherited money recently and she even said I could use 10 grand to search halves in volume. I doubt I will though. But that's how much she supports me. lol.

By the way we are both 23 and have been married 2 years.

Hubby and I have been together 9 1/2 years...We are just starting out in our coin hunting. It interested me first and he (of course) thought I was crazy. I managed to get $7 in pennies the first time. On our way home from the grocery store the same day, he whipped into the bank, asked for $40 cash, and got me a box of pennies, a roll of quarters and a roll of nickels. I laughed and teased him about being interested...he then stops at ANOTHER bank, goes in, and gets the same thing...yep, he's hooked! Not so much a competition between us right now(but I'm sure it will be eventually), but for the record, I did beat him 11 wheats to 5. Now to dump this batch and get a new one.

At first my girlfriend was excited about me roll hunting. She was pretty supportive and would even ask for halves when she went to the bank by herself. A couple months down the line, and it is a completely different story. She too asks if it is going to be a coin free weekend, but I can tell by her eyes that if I say, "no" I'm in the dog house. She doesn't mind the searching so much, but she doesn't like HATES dumping, she says she gets embarrassed.

Goldrush I got the exact same thing when I started. Whenever she gets home after me from work and I'm on the living room floor watching tv and going through $150 or so in dimes, she laughs and calls me a dork.

Good thing is she doesn't care, and shes a manager at a retail store so goes through the registers for me when she closes shop. Found me a 52' Rosie couple days ago!

I've had my girlfriend for a year now, but she says my coin searching is one of the reason's she loves me. Of course she thinks I'm a nerd, but she supports me so I'm happy!

My wife isn't a big coin collector. She gets ticked off sometimes when I have a pile of coins on the kitchen table. However, she gets pretty happy when I show her a handful of silver!
