Laugh, I wish I could get my wife interested in coin roll hunting with me. A couple of weeks ago she let me "borrow" a small space under the counter for my penny storage and boxes. Not only are they still there but the boxes have multiplied. I am not sure if she has even noticed it or maybe just turned a blind eye. Either way, I am happy as long as she doesn't bring it up.

Yesterday my wife got the mail and commented that there were not any packages for me: "Haven't you been bidding high enough lately?"

She's no longer ticked.... She's found the last 5 silver coins, 3 rosies, two War Nickels, while my best find the last few days has been that elusive (to us) 2009 p nickel, and I was surprised by that, because we usually get mostly denver marks, while the 2009d hole is still empty. But then again, we've only gone through around 400 in nickels.

Taking back to the bank today: $100.00 (roughly) in Nickels $50.00 in Lincolns. Scored two Silver War Nickels out of that and a dateless Buffalo nickel. (and several 2009 D's with one P) And a couple Canadian Nickels. The Cents produced half a dozen Wheaties. I had been on a "break" from roll hunting again. The wife tends to feel like I'm "invading" on her scrapbooking/computer time in our den when I'm in there ! She just doesn't have the interest to "assist" me in doing this.....and I think she gets mad when I "have" to re-search all of the coins she's done to make sure she didn't miss anything, the few times she HAS done it with me ! ....... I could see where this would be annoying ! ... SO..... I find that I work best ....when it's quiet....late at night, or really early in the morning. These are the times that I roll hunt generally.....

My soon-to be- new wife, is kind of getting into things of coins. She really likes to look under through the loupe at the details. She is my back up set of eyes looking for doubling on the Lincoln cents. I get to the cross eyed stage and she takes a look. So I am educating her and her 2 young girls. The youngest asked me last night to go through her coins with the magnifier again. I told her once she gets new coins. Age (4)

My wife was upset that I had money tied up in the coins and then she got even more upset when I told her and showed her the 25th annie sets. I am selling 4 raw and keeping 1 and now she is very, very happy.

My wife thinks it's funny that I hunt coins. I haven't been doing it long, but the day I explained the 300 in front of me, she laughed and call me a dork.

My wife gets ticked with me as well when I roll hunt but for a different reason..
I mostly roll hunt for silver/old/foreign coins. I have every common date Canadian quarter, nickel, dime and penny so I no longer need to fill every hole in my albums.
So the part that ticks my wife off is when I'm roll hunting, I will open up one side of the roll and push the coins in to my hand like a log from the other side of the roll. Once the coins are in my hand, I can usually pick out any silver/foreign coins by looking at the rim. If there aren't any, I will start to put the coins back in the roll one at a time.
My wife HATES the "tink" sound of the coins hitting eachother as I put them back in the roll...
She always says "I only get a minute or two of silence which is ALWAYS followed by 49 tinks!! It's driving my crazy!"
The only time she will tolerate the tinking sound is when she decides to open up a roll or two herself because she gets jealous when I pull out silver.

My wife said to me today: "Are we going to have a coin free weekend?" Me: "Probably not."

I've been married 10 years; actually pretty happily. She just rolled her eyes and left the room.
I've tried to get her into coin collecting, it's just not her thing. Our oldest (7 year old) daughter enjoys the hobby with me.
