Yes. Until 1990 MM's were hand punched into each die so the placement can very.

As John said, the die setter had a bit of a problem when he or she punched this MM into the working die. You have to remember that these guys were punching in hundreds of these MM in a day. A tiresome and tedious job.

Hundreds of dies were punched a day? So there could be a ton of varieties?
I really need to work on my knowledge of the minting process.
