@ Lithanial
Ya , can't understand it , it sold out quick and the profit margin was much more per ounce than on the wildlife bullion, guess the profit on the larger quantity made up for that.

Here's an idea , RCM , make the 2013 bullion maples 1 ounce piedforts, maybe with the laureate or tiara portrait . (If you use this idea I want free samples.)

make sure to limit the mintage, 100,000-300,000 will be great. thanks

But then it'd turn out as expensive as a commemorative in no time.
The wildlife series' 1 million mintage per issue I find is a pretty good number. Not immediately and unreasonably expensive right off the shelf yet still collectible.

does it really have to?:)

Britanna mintage 100,000, Kookaburra mintage 300,000, price of 2011 coins are around 41-42 at APMEX. maple leaf f15 reverse proof coin mintage 5,000, $45 each. looks like mintage is not a factor of the cost of making bullion coin, maple leaf art design is recycled, dies have to be replaced after every 3,000? strikes no matter how many coins they make, dealer will take care of the sales anyways, so why lower the mintage will increase the price?

Earlier in 2011 I asked a RCM rep if they were going to do some more Piedforts and they had no plans for future releases but if they make some more I will be all in with bells on.

Really not sure why they are appealing but smaller diameter coins just happen to show up in the collection more than the larger ones.
