Hey guys, like I have mentioned on here a few times now, I am getting started back with my collection. I just started collecting back in January and then sold most of my collection this summer when silver rose because I needed cash. Well now, after some thinking, I want to continue my collection and this time hold on to it for a while.

Lately I have been working on a Lincoln wheats set in AU/BU condition and have getting a bit interested in possibly a Franklin halves set or Jefferson nickels set because it is something I can afford.

I WISH I could start a Morgan set because I think they are awesome, but I know that as a college student, that would definitely be in my wildest dreams.

Roughly how much do you think it would cost me to build a full set of BU Franklins, and BU set of Jeffersons?

I have even thought hard about possibly building a full circulated set of jeffersons from roll/box searching. I have done it once before and it turned out pretty profitable. I filled about half the album with one box of jeffersons and turned around and sold it for about 55 on ebay. It only had about maybe $4 face value in the album, and the album it self I got on sale for $10

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated. I would love to hear what you guys have to say and think on what I should do for possibly starting a new album, while I look casually for some lincoln wheats.

Thanks!

I think you should keep going on the Lincoln Set for sure !

I have more albums "going" than I can count at the moment, and I'm bad about not keeping track of what it costs, so....

But I am close to completing a Jefferson with Proofs to Date Dansco (#8113). And it looks AMAZING so far !
I would think this one would be reasonably affordable, esp., if you can work with a local coin shop. The couple keys in higher grades will cost a bit, and the War Nickels in higher grades, likewise but cheaper yet, are definately do-able as well.
It's taking me a couple years to complete....and like I said...I haven't been keeping track of the cost.

I did a folder, mostly from circulation, too....which is complete, but my Dansco is/will be the cream of the crop !
It's just REALLY REALLY looking sharp ! Well worth the effort of time and money for the higher grades IMO.
