It might be worth a tad more bit I don't think you see a big change in value until you get a coin that is off by 50%, or maybe 35%. I just haven't seen it on a nickel before. Dimes...all the time, but not nickels.
Again, wait for the experts....I've only been at this for a year and my interests are all over the place. LOL

jgray44 --- I may have been wrong...I can't find examples of nickels with a die rotation. It might be more rare than I thought.
I was hoping that the nickel experts would chime in. I hope they do.
Meanwhile....consider this a bump to the top of the list...hope it helps.
By the way, I know what you mean 'so many things to learn', every day I learn more and I keep learnig just how much I don't know. LOL

Here's the thing, it's technically rare to see a rotated die on a proof nickel, but that's partially due to the low mintages of proof nickels. This coin is literally 3 or 4 percent rotated. That's within the quality control standards of circulation strikes, but proofs should be perfect. Despite that, I don't see any value here. It's a very inexpensive proof and this is not really an attributed error. At 15 degrees, maybe .50 more. Something crazy like upside down, it would get some interest, but no, no additional value here.

did you pay $35 for that coin (I'm referring to the price on the 2 x 2)?

Quote: did you pay $35 for that coin (I'm referring to the price on the 2 x 2)? I sure hope not. That might say .35 or maybe $3.5. I could see a desperate dealer trying to sell this for as little as .35 or a greedy one for $3.5.
