Greetings,

The coin was purchased at a mynt och frimärken butik in Stockholm.

The date toward the "90" seems to veer with extreme subtlety upward.

The two stars closed to the 90 seem slightly closer together than the others.

The concern is of a counterfeit possibility rather than numismatic evaluation. Physical specifications are accurate. Other Morgan dollars accumulated do not have the two deviations.

Should I upload pictures?

For questions re. Swedish coined silver I am available to answer - quite experienced with those!

Here are photos of the obverse and reverse. Identical obverse-reverse condition despite the different appearance in the photos. The sun light angles in low here this time year even at 12noon!

Mvh,
Michael

Nothing stands out to me as far as this being counterfeit. Typically you will see counterfeits of the key date coins. This is a relatively low retail value coin and would grade at best a VF20 in my opinion. Hope that helps. The Morgan experts will surely chime in if they see something that I missed.

Oh, welcome to the forum!

I do like the looks of the Morgan dollars. I collect the 8 reales Spanish colonials and they are so similar. I will let an expert give his thoughts on your coin.

Yes the 8 reales Spanish colonials are attractive coins.

The Banco de Mexico .925 silver onzas score high in my book for the larger coins, as do the Canadian silver dollars with the canoe. Unfortunately there is the 25% VAT on imported silver in Sweden, but if any of you visit Stockholm we can meet for fika and do a fair trade of those and other items with superb condition Swedish coined silver specimens. My accrual of coined Swedish silver is far beyond anything in any of the shops.
