Here is one of 5 1880 S coins I bought awhile back as part of a die study. They are all the same type and 3 of the 5 look as nice as the MS-67 I got from Noel. They are EDS or Early Die States for the novices out there. When you hear the term good strike the coin it's self could be a later Die state making the coin look some what weak. One of the things I look for is the sharpness in the denticles. Even on DMPL and PL coins you find less detail and that is caused by the die ware. As a die wares the mint would remove and re-surface the Die giving it the DMPL and PL look again.

Anyway here is one of 5 I found out of an um-messed with roll!
