Ran across a half a roll of mercs tonight for 37 dollars ppd. Except for one 1925, they're later ones, and all common dates, but that's well under melt.

Lots like this one, and the half dollar collection I picked up a couple days ago, are why I only search the buy it now listings on ebay. You'd never buy this lot in open bidding for what the seller priced it at.

I'd have probably nabbed those too.

Good buy! I've been starting to notice the BIN options may be the way to go for those of us looking to "flip" coins on ebay. I found someone selling a 1857 FEC with a clear die clash (Snow 9) that the seller (a coin shop) didn't realize, so he was selling it for the price of a normal 1857. On top of that I found out that the coin shop was only 15 miles from me. So I went down there and bought it for 20% below his ebay price since he didn't have to pay ebay fees or shipping. I can probably sell it for around twice what I got it for. If it was up for auction chances are others would see the die clash and bid it up too high.

Chancellor, nice score! That's buying silver at $20.5/oz!

I don't know if I could handle sifting through all the outrageous BIN listings...you must have more stamina!

Generally Mercury dimes sell for about $3 each at coin stores, coin shows and even flea markets. Some really lousy ones may go for $2 but those are usually really messed up. So for what you paid, really a good deal.
Watch for the many recently found small Mint marks, 42/41's, rotated reverses, etc.
