How do you use the quote feature. I've been trying to select, and then look for a quote button or something. It's not very obvious...... or I'm just not seeing it?

Be sure to use the "Reply to Topic" option instead of the Quick Reply Quote: How do you use the quote feature. I've been trying to select, and then look for a quote button or something. It's not very obvious...... or I'm just not seeing it? Once in Reply to Topic and after you highlight the text you want to quote simply click the button above the Color option

I have a less obvious question: how do you put the pictures of the (not the smilies) icons in a post ? Like the quote icon pic above.

You don't need to use the "Reply to topic" box to do quotes. In the Quick reply box, just type the quote codes in manually. Type "[qu ote]", copy and paste the text you wish to quote, then type "[/qu ote]". So entering the line, [qu ote]How do you use the quote feature.[/qu ote] generates: Quote: How do you use the quote feature.

I'm lazy, too. I use a Firefox add-on that gives me a key sequence to enter [qu ote][/qu ote] for me. Then I just have to paste the quoted material in between.

for me. Then I just have to paste the quoted material in between. Does it automagically put the cursor in the right place? If so, hook me up.

That's interesting. The forum successfully parsed your use of "quote" even though you broke it and I copied it verbatim.

Quote: Does it automagically put the cursor in the right place? If so, hook me up. No, but I have gotten used to the "Click/Right-Click/Paste" sequence. Still better than pressing '[' 'q' 'u' 'o' 't' 'e'... http://clippings.mozdev.org/

OK, It works for me, but I had to highlight the text and copy it, then click the quote button and then paste between the html quote code. Just highlighting the text and simply clicking the quote button only gave me Quote:, and I was in "Relply to Topic" Thanks

I have been wondering this myself, now I have to try it to see if I got it right.

This is a test.....it is only a test..... had this been a real post, it would have been more interesting. This test is now concluded. Thanks for the above info.....I needed to learn how to do this. Thought it had to do with my HTML being off.
