I usually don't post ebay winnings until in hand(I don't think the seller is a regular coin seller, so, shouldn't see this)...anyway, the listing was for 4 IKES...3 1971 and 1, 1973...I won all 4 for 8.00...the main coin, a 1971, turns out to be an S-Mint coin, and, most likely a Business Strike "Blue Pack" IKE, raw....what caught my eye is the toning, the funny foot serif in are of LIBERTY(which looks like a proof "Serif" R), obvious islands on reverse(which are on all blue pack IKES)....and, of course, the fact that ALL of these may be S-Mint coins, which would be a steal...IF the first coin turns out to be a proof strike(unlikely, but, possible), AND has Islands on reverse(RDV-OO1 Reverse), it will be 1 rare IKE, with a wrong reverse...I don't know how many people own the wrong reverse IKE, but, it is virtually NEVER written about, even on the Ike Group....I wrote one of the members, and sent the link, have not heard back....could be a hit mark on the R, causing the funny-foot look...will just have to see in hand....will let you know in a few days...If proof, could be a Prototype, but, that's REALLY dreaming...can't I dream a bit?

Under magnification, even though pixelated, the 71 appears to be an S mint mark. You may have scored. :?)

Nice finds!

The photo does seem to give the coin a "proof" look. For you, I hope it is!

It sure looks like a proof strike obverse...even polished BS Blue Pack Ikes don't have letters like this, and, the funny-foot R, which is strictly a proof R......reverse shows islands, which, is impossible, unless it is the rare "mule" RDV-OO1...just have to wait to see in hand...

The first image is an impaired proof 1971S dollar.

The second picture is not of the same coin.

The fourth picture shows the reverse of the impaired proof dollar, lower right.

The final picture shows the reverse of the impaired proof dollar in the upper right.

I don't know anything about the design differences in Ike dollars, but I can tell for certain that what I've said in this post is what you'll end up with. I don't know whether that's good or not.

4 silver IKES for $7.99.NO mule(seller shot proof obverse, and, BU reverse, in auction, which fooled me)..1 71-S Proof, 2-71-S BU, and, 1-73-S BU..not a bad start....THEN..one of the 71-S BU blue pack IKES has the FS-501 RPM..with matching markers off T in TRUST, above 1 in date, (as shown in the new IKE Book). As far as RPM's go, this is not much to look at, but, they do seem to be somewhat scarce...(some sell these mistakenly as FS-501, when, in fact, it is shelf-doubled only, which is common on multiply-struck Silver IKES))..off to anacs...
Now..does any one know how many 71-S Proof IKES are out there with the RDV-OO1 reverse? THAT seems like one heck of a rare IKE..I've certainly never found one.
