I picked this up at an auction the other night. I spent more then what I wanted to get it for, but I didnt want the other bidder to get it at that price either. It did weigh out at 8.0 grams. Is there any value beyond its gold content due to it being unc? Thanks for opinions in advance.

I have one of these in a PCGS slab graded MS-64. My cost was about the same as a generic, circulated USA $5 gold piece at the time. I assume they do not command much if any premium over their gold content, even in uncirculated grades. Mintage was over 800,000 so they are not scarce. Krause lists an 1925/4 overdate which carries a premium; perhaps you should examine your coin under a loupe to see if you got lucky!

thanks for the replies. ya I liked the design as well. foreign gold is harder to liquidate in my area, so I ended up selling this about a month ago. I paid 375 after fees at the auction, but managed to get 430 for it. so it worked out. I then used the $ to get a 5$ gold indian. its funny how stuff works out sometimes...
