Ok, I know that this coins is a bit beat up and it may be hard to tell, but what is you opinion? It certainly doesn't look to me (with my inexperienced eyes) to be the same as the MD that I've seen. If it is an actual DD cent, it would figure that I'd find one all beat to crap.

Actually, the more I look at it, I believe that it is indeed MD. Never mind.

Yeah, thanks. I had kind of realized that after I posted it. I guess that I had figured that the way my luck sometimes runs, that if I do find one that it'll be beat up.

After seeing willy13's post of his 1972 DDO, at least I know I'm not the only one that fate sometimes messes with. That could have been a great find for him.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Oh well, back to the change jars. :?)

This is what the 1968 DDO's look like. (I just noticed the tag on the image has the wrong date. My dislexia must have kicked in that day. LOL)

Note how the devices are rounded. On your coin the devices are damaged from die movement.

Oh man, DrDon! That stinks! That's reminds me of years back, when my knees would still let me use my metal detector, I pulled a muddy coin out the ground. Through the mud I could make out the shield and the date of a Seated dime in fantastic shape. I carefully wrapped it up and brought it home. Once the mud started coming off under a gentle stream of water, I found an other wise outstanding coin had a hole through the top and the reverse had been engraved to make a love token. I was bummed.

Nice coin Coop. Thanks for posting the photos of what a real one looks like. I'm slowly catching on and should stop posting the MD's soon (I hope).

I really appreciate the patience everyone has shown with my slow learning curve, and for making me feel welcome.
