I bought a whole box of 2011 cents yesterday, and I have found about 12 of these so far and I'm only about 7 rolls in. I'm not sure if this is a doubled die or not. If it is, it is very minor. The only thing that made me think it was is the left arm of the "Y" in LIBERTY. It looks thicker than the right side. All of them have the same reverse die marker as the 2011P-1DO-001.(Die chip on the top left of the shield.) Is this a doubled die or am I just seeing things? Sorry for the pics, it's as good as I can do.

Looks like a normal coin with two light sources making it appear that something is going on when it actually isn't. Try blocking out one light source and see what you have. Glare is an enemy photos of BU/Proof coins. Try filtering the light and keep the source to just one light source. Block an unwanted light with something to show what you really have. Hope this helps.

Coop, I agree with the lighting issue. Looking through my loupe the left arm of the Y is definitely thicker than the right under any light. This just happens to be the only way I can get a decent picture of the coin.

I think I see what you are refering to...The top of the "Y"...The 2011's are crazy shiney and lights play tricks. It doesn't look like the 001 to me. The date doesn't look doubled at all but "IF" the top right of the "Y" is really alot thinner (again that shadow is covering alot of area) it could be a unattributed minor one....but I think its normal and the lighting is playing tricks.

This has happened to me a few times...I set them aside and re-evalutate them later. Also when you are searching make sure you get good lighting. Its easier to recognize what you have if the lighting isn't sending you mixed singles.

Happy Hunting!

Sometimes you have one light present, but forget about a secondary light like a room light/sunlight through windows. In a case of a secondary light on a microsope I plave a facial tissue drapped with a piece of tape to keep the unwanted light from reaching the coin. Other times placing a sheet of folded paper can also do the trick. Just cut off the secondary light from reaching the coin and you willl have less problems.
