Hi guys

Don't know if this is common with American pennies or not, but look at the first 5 in the 1955d date...Extra copper...I have a couple of these...

That extra copper is caused by a clogged die. Clogged dies on lincoln wheats are very common. They are still pretty cool, but I don't think there is much of a premium on them, if any.

It's called a die chip and is very common on the date and on LIBERTY as well.No added value.IMHO

I agree with John1. A clogged die would give the appearance of less copper. What you have is a die chip. A piece of the die broke off inside the 5 letting the metal flow up inside the numeral. This is very common on wheat cents and adds no extra value.
