I have a 1866 nickel 3 cent piece that I've had for a while, and was wondering if anyone knew how much it is worth. It's in pretty good condition. I also have a 1903 liberty head V nickel, pretty worn but need the money.

Sorry to hear about your money troubles, bfcf88. I'm afraid that you aren't likely to solve them with these two coins.

The V nickel is worth only a couple of bucks.
Unless the 3-cent piece is uncirculated, it's worth less than $50. We'd need a picture to be more specific.

The 3 cent pieces are going up in price but as texasmick mentioned we would need pics to give an approximate grade and price for you on that one.

The V-nickel on the other hand is worth squaduche. From 1899 onward up to 1912 (less the D and S mintmarks) they only command a decent price if they are in About Uncirculated and above. Reason is they are nickel, very common substance, and they made millions of them. They can easily be had by the rolls in the condition you described for mere dollars on ebay.
