Now where did you find such a coin? No specifics but a field, historic property etc?
Congrats!

I was in Culpepper County,VA. the heart of the Civil War battles. I had permission to hunt a farmers field. Last year I found a Maine Cuff button so I know there was activity in the area. A friend shows up and we are swing away when he walked over to me and showed me a couple of Colonial buttons he found. We were a couple of hundreds yards off the road with no visible signs of an old homestead. I received a good signal, dug down and out comes this LC. In Vermont find LC's is no big deal, so I put it in my pouch and moved on. A few minutes later, another one. It wasn't until I got back to the truck and washed it did I realize what I had.
PS: How can I respond to one post, I know some fourms have a reply button.
Thanks

jeffrose,
I think he's talking about how do you easily quote someone's message like you just did. As far as I know there is no simple button to hit. I'm not sure why since most forums on the internet have one.

You have to highlight the entire post of the person you want to quote, cick the reply to post link at the top of the page, delete out the unneccessary text, highlight what you have, and then click the botton at the top of the box (second from the right, bottom row which is the insert quote button). It took me a while ot figure it out.

Great find.
I guess I will need to buy a metal detector when I move down to MS to find some relics (nothing cool here up in WI I'm sure)

Living in California, I do a lot of gold prospecting so I use a White's GMT. I hinted to my wife Months ago that I would like a coin/relic machine specifically, the Garrett AT-Pro. There is a big wrapped box in the living room. I may have gotten my wish!

Isn't that a strawberry?
I would not attempt to clean even the commonest 1793 cent. Pay the pros, rather than risk messing with things up.

Wouldn't that be the icing on the cake Just a fantastic find Being the second person to touch this coin since being dropped is awesome in and of itself.

Nope, just the "common" varity...
With a screen name like Vermontensium, I would figure the East Coast..

It is not a strawberry. It is either S-8, 9 or NC-4. S-8 and 9 are common, but NC-4 has only four specimens known. Really need to see a good picture of the reverse.
