My lamp(GE Reveal Bulb) tends to make silver coins with wayyyy to much contrast...I know I should make a filter, and haven't tried that yet, a diffusing cloth between coin and lamp...could I get decent results by either adjusting my ISO, or, exposure compensation, or BOTH, to remedy this? Not much luck, with differing settings...I use a fairly old KODAK digital P&S Camera, Easy Share C533, that is real basic, and not fancy at all, so, my options are limited.
Thanks
Calvin

I'm of the opinion that "too much contrast" is an oxymoron. Could you post a couple of images illustrating the problem?

You need to filter the light. Some white cloth or paper will work best. A low iso can help but too much light is too much light, the other settings will only mask it.
