This is a question for the 50-cent variety collectors. I know that this variety is not found in business strikes, but is fairly common to find in RCM proof-like sets. Does anyone know if this variety also occurs in RCM Specimen sets?

I guess there are only 2 of us that collect these things & mine is proof-like. I would think specimens would be pointed also. Don't know if this helps. 180760520269 ebay item.

I have both varieties, from specimen sets. The pointed one came from the 'Double Dollar' set, and the rounded one came from the 'Double Cent' set (last year of issue for the double cent specimen set). I suspect neither is overly scarce...

Sorry, I cannot help, although I have the coin that I purchased from Colonial Acres a few years ago after Ken Potter did an article on it.... Perhaps a note to Ken or a query to Todd at Colonial Acres.

My 50ct collecting interest ended with the last silver one in 1967.

1967 is where it ended for many. Only a few of us take advantage of varieties after 67.
