I need to store several AU coins temporarily (1-2 weeks) until I have a chance to buy more pages for my Numis Album.
Currently they are loose in a Ziploc bag and I am worried about the coins scratching each other in bag.

Is this an issue or will they be alright?
If this will cause them to scratch/scuff each other, how should I store them temporarily?

I would put them in a coin tube and stuff the top with piece of styrofoam cut to the size of the tube so they don't move around till you need them.

Unfortunately, no coin tube available!
Would dropping them into the tube onto each other scratch/scuff them?

I guess my other question is...will they scratch/scuff each other?

I think you are in Toronto....Arcade Coin sells tubes I think. They are in an office building on King st E right near Young....3rd floor. They also sell bulk 2x2s for storage. I would call first. I don't think an AU coin will come to much trouble in a tube (or for that matter in a bag if you keep it still), but I would be careful with MS coins. And don't touch the surfaces of the coins with your fingers while moving them around!

Thanks Papeldog & Smallcentguy

Actually, I realized they are MS coins - I'm still quite new to grading...since most of my collection is not worth grading.
I know not to touch them, since I have already made that mistake before...luckily not on anything valuable.

Since I won't have a chance to go to Arcade Coin or any other coin shop until next week I think I'll just lay them flat on a piece of paper and cover them with another piece of paper in a safe place. Hopefully this 'safe place' will not get pushed off the table or collect unwanted moisture.

You can put them in empty med bottles for the time being.
