Well, its time to build a circulated set of Jefferson nickels and Lincoln cents! I am actually more excited about the Jefferson's rather than the Lincolns just because I already currently have a set of wheats going that I have spent quite a bit on already. It is an XF/BU set, so I highly doubt that I find much in circulation to replace what I have. I am not ruling it out, just saying that it might be unlikely. So therefore I am just going to get folders to put the circulated set together and maybe eventually upgrade to an album

Sounds good! Are you going to check for varieties and such or just dates?

Ya I don't really know all that stuff well yet, and I was looking into getting a maybe a book or two that shows varieties, but the one book I was looking into getting was like 27.00 so I thought I would hold off or maybe just look online somewhere?

don't know how close you are to a hobby lobby, but once a month they put their coins stuff on sale. Some stores it goes on sale for 25% off. Some stores it goes on sale for 50%.
I try to pick my folders up during these sales. Depending on what they have in stock sometimes affects which coins I hunt.

Sounds great, have fun with it! I'm working on both those sets (from circ) myself, and it's been fun for the first few boxes. The law of diminishing returns has struck and I'm only getting 3-4 hole fillers per box now (still getting a couple upgrades too). Still fun and a good way to do something somewhat useful while watching football or whatever.

Casutherland, i hope you can find the CherryPickers Guide for a good price.you really need a copy.....it has Jefferson nickle varieties too. i now have to do a Jefferson set from circulation too.i found an old Whitman folder that was my Dads (starting 1938- ending 1961)it is almost full.it needs 38-s,39-s,49-s, & 50-d to be complete.i dont know if I will find them in rolls but,i should be able to get the 62 - date. good luck with your search. Yes celtic that's basically my plan. I know the returns will go down, but I love always having the possible chance of getting a buffalo or older nickel in the mix. That is always fun. I used to collect baseball cards, so opening a box of nickels and pennies is kinda of like opening packs of baseball cards. You can either come out with something awesome, or something not worth a flip. Only difference in this is that you can't lose your money that you are investing!
Thanks so much merclover, I will be using that tomorrow!

TJ I saw it on Amazon for like 26 but I am trying to see if the price will go down because I was asking for it for Christmas but my parents said no because they thought it was too much for a book lol :(
