Hello this might be a dumb question but I bought some Coin World holders and I used a plastic bag to push the coins in, is that harmful at all?

Are you talking about the bags?

Even if the bag was platicized PVC, you are not in contact with the coin long enough to affect the coin. That is, as long as the plastic bag has not started to degrade. Does it feel slimy or dry? Dry is good.

The bigger concern, in my opinion, is the abrasiveness of the plastic bag. A soft cloth would be a better option.

If it was a sandwich bag? They are made from low density polyethylene
and fairly soft as plastic goes .the barrier will keep finger prints off. So good choice ! no PVC in them

cotton fiber has a density of 1.54--1.56 g/cm³
cotton hardness ?

LDPE has a density of 0.910-0.940 g/cm3
shore hardness of 44-50

I would go with jbuck's recommendation as he has handled a lot more coins than I.

You can scratch bag with finger nail, but how do you tell if you have scratched a cloth?

Slobs are not hermetically sealed. Even if they were, if the TPG puts a big fingerprint on a coin, or sneezes on it, the problem will grown inside the slob.

I agree with biggfredd. I use Airtites for my more cherished raw coins. I like em ;)
Just wish they were square!
