This coin is officially my lowest-grade half eagle. With an original mintage of 26,700 it's seldom seen and very costly in high grade. Not so expensive like this! What grade do think it deserves?
Wow, she has really been around. Probably a coin in the "good" range. How many people used her? How did this extremely worn coin avoid the government withdrawal of the 30's? I have never seen such a worn gold piece, cool coin.
FYI, the weight of this coin is 8.11 grams. Since the original/standard weight is 8.359 grams, it has lost 0.249 grams, or about 3% of its original weight.
