They are quite common and are made from copper /nickle the same as most modern UK coins. There is no silver at all in these Report this Post to the Staff

The alloy is 75% copper, 25% nickel as are a;;o the other copper nickel crown size coins. $3 from your local coin shop is the maximum I would pay. trout1105 Pillar of the Community Australia 7096 Posts	Posted 12/03/2011 02:31 am I got a job lot of 35 Churchill and other c/n crowns for less than $40 , This should give you an indication of their value. They are as cheap as chips But they are a nice big coin and the grandkids love them. There are quite a few diferant types of these c/n crowns about but I think the 1951 Festival of Britain is the best one. The first crown minted was in 1551 and the 1951 was minted 400 years later. It has the insciption MDCCCLI CIVIUM INDUSTRIA FLORET CIVITAS MCMLI. This translates into; By the industry of the people the state florishes. It looks like a normal silver crown with George and the dragon on it but it is c/n. Just wanted to share that info Report this Post to the Staff
