I'm going to meet with a coin dealer today and would love some advice and opinions on these coins. I would like to find out what they are worth and if anyone sees errors. I have a couple more to list here and on another forum. grateful for comments, opinions etc...

HI Kimberly. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but these coins are only worth a few cents each.

Im confused !?
Maximum you can pay for the 27 would be .10 and the 53d dont buy it because you can find even in change !
I wish you were in my area because I would give a couple coffe cans full with LWC's so you could cherry pick whatever you want and the maximum I could charge you for coins with the same mintage numbers as the ones above would be .5 each but is more like I would give you for free !

I would just keep them. I bet the dealer will offer you .05 for them both if he even takes them. Maybe you could start a LWC album.

I'm very curious why there are so many different color pennies. The one I have posted is almost red. Where can I go to find more information about this? I'd like to learn more about it.

Copper or bronze will react to various gasses or contaminants and thus turns a variety of colors.

I've been keeping all of these "blood red" ones I find.
LWC and LMC.

I don't keep the "partial" colored ones like this though, just the solid red ones...don't have enough to make an album, but slowly and methodically I'm getting a nice batch of them.
I think they're cool, unfortunately not desirable in the numismatic world however.

This maroon/blood/dark red color is pretty interesting to me, shame they're considered PMD, basically, and not the "red" that most people want.....
