My coin dealer has a 1949 50 cent piece

(checked the date --> no design in date)

It seems to be high grade, surely MS60 or higher (all the hair lines are clear), he's selling it for $60, I'm sure I can lower it to $40 or even less, maybe.

Is it a good deal?

(P.S. $40 is a lot for me since I'm only 14 and if I waste it, my parents will kill me ,lol)

I don't know much about Canadian coins but I know what you are talking about because I am 14 turning 15 this month and know that my parents sometimes don't understand why I spend so much on some of the coins that I buy. For example, after I sold my silver, I got $300 for it. At that same show, I went and bought a 1913 $2.50 gold piece. You shoulda seen the look on my mom's face when I said I paid $250 for it. But anyways, good luck with your purchase

Im 13 turning 14. About the coin if you say it's Ms-60, is listed at $40 in the charlton and MS-63 is at a 100$. Does it say a grade on the coin?
Rest in Peace

Rule #1: Unless it's slobbed, it doesn't matter what the holder says. Learn to grade for yourself, and you get much farther without getting taken.

If it has hair lines on it, it may have been cleaned, and if your not sure of the grade $40.00 seems high to me.

No, not hair lines as in cleaning, I mean the lines in his hair, lol. Anyways, it's in a 2x2, I'll ask him next weekend if I can take it out.

He's a good guy but is a rip-off, he sells some things two times what they're worth but gives me discounts, sometimes %50 off .Thanks for your help, I will have to consider it. Will post news...
