Ok, I'm puzzled. He's ripping people off on silver coins and paying stupid money for nickels. I emailed him with three rolls of pre 1964 nickels that I'd love to get $.50 per nickel for.

I'm betting they don't realize that pre-65 nickels don't contain silver (not counting War Nickels of course).

Craigslist does manage to have a few from the shallow end of the gene pool.

To recap for any who didn't see it, he was offering $2.00 each for silver dollars, $1.50 for silver halves, $1.00 for silver quarters and $.50 each for 1964 and earlier nickels. It was the nickels that made me laugh.

Here's a good one I found:
"I am selling a rare 1943 Steel penny in excellent condition. 1943 was the only year they minted pennies from steel! Don't miss out, it is an awesome collectors coin! I'm asking 20 dollars firm and it's well worth it!"

The coin is also replated.

Considering he didn't mention dimes, maybe it was a mistake?
