@omxfl - I ordered two and never opened them I hope they are not in that type of shape. Maybe I better order another one. I see MCM had the MS70s back in stock for all of 15/20 minutes today.

I know I read that report as well. Hopefully they had fore site in making a larger amount of Mt Rushmore since it is a well known well visited park!

I am very happy with the quality of both WM & GB, I hope omxfl will be able to find some replacement.
It was a good thing I decided to order GB instead of the other 3 coins.....
Now I have to decide on the remaining 3....
Spot price dropped below $20/oz. This will be a catalyst for the bullion pucks..... but I don't have the cash to spread over to the bullion side :( ..... If I am able to get 2-3 bullion pucks, which design do you suggest (in order of preference)? Thanks.
Btw, thank you to all the contributors to this thread. This is the main thread that I check the most in the "US Modern Coins" section.

SA4H... I actually think the best "bullion coin" - is the White Mountain. It really looks like a framed picture compared to the others - IMO.
I just noticed order of preference..
White Mountain
Fort McHenry
Mount Rushmore
Great Basin
Perry
The last 2 can go either way... since I am underwhelmed by both.

Yes this is the main thread I go to recently as well. There used to be quite a few in the PM section and some posters that really aren't posting anymore that kept them active (at least the threads of interest tome)

White Mountain is a beautiful coin too, but like someone else mentioned it kind of gets lost in the forest mountain pile up thats happened/will keep happening in the series designs which cheapens it/makes it a little stale. Great Basin and Perry probably wont be seeing a surge in interest either. Both of those look better on Quarters for me especially the Perry with the abundance of open space. Really after Rushmore and McHenry I dont see any advantage to any of the other three over their peers with the assumption you will try and get them all at some point. |

basebal... I think you are right about Rushmore and McHenry being the most "popular" of this years 5 ounce coins. I also think that puts them into the other end of the spectrum - they'll also be among the more available to be purchased for quite some time - people are buying extras to sell for just that reason.
I see the White Mountain as more of the sleeper of the 3, and while I like the P release of it just fine - the bullion to me is actually the best of the 3 in bullion. The Ft McHenry is a close 2nd. but it doesn't really pop like I had hoped, and Rushmore is an awesome coin - but I think in bullion the detail is lost and if I were wanting this one - I'd really recommend the P release. Between the Ft. and Rushmore for the best of the P series this year. White Mountain is the best in the bullion.

I could see that happening and I bet it is happening right now. With the mintage on these though I'm not sure that would hold long term like the 2013 ASE set. At most these would sell maybe an extra 10k from what the others really do so it wont take a whole lot of interest or people who cherry pick designs/just want one or two to get involved and dry up a lot of those bought for resale. Of course that interest may never come, but Rushmore and McHenry (in that order) would be the two I would be nervous about passing on thinking I can just get them later. I agree the White Mountain is an underrated coin and had it been the first mountain design probably would have sold out fast. I just cant help but feel that design is getting fatigued even though its done really well and is very fitting. Theres just no way around that idea getting recycled a lot doing this series which unfairly punishes some great designs. Edited by basebal21

I think the key is that if people want these - they really should buy the 2 most popular for this year - that are still available at the mint! (altho I'd be getting really worried in the next couple of weeks). I think the Perry is on it's way out right now as well...

Got these in the mail today from APMEX after waiting 2 weeks for my check to clear and of course silver tanked between then and now and the current prices are about $80 less than I paid.  |

Despite the sold out notice on the press release I just ordered three of the Mount Rushmore coins which the Mint says are "In Stock." Of course it remains to be seen if I actually receive them! Best Regards,  George VDB Coins |

The US mint coins for mt Rushmore weren't sold out. I think some graded coins were said to be sold out sold by places other than the mint
