And you were worried! I'll estimate they'll put 2,000 up when it next goes on sale. Guessing 17,700 total mintage. They know already it's not going to be the max on this one.

I have a subscription now since I almost missed out on Hawaii way back then - would have been very costly...!

And congrats on post no. 5000, CelticKnot!

I only had a subscription when they offered the discount. I think I may do the subscription when the Teddy Roosevelt is due to come out. That's my favorite, plus I've visited the park!

On another note, I was just looking again at the 2016 coins. What type of flag is the soldier carrying in the Fort Moultrie? I am just wondering since I don't recognize it. Thanks!

That is the Moultrie Flag which was the first South Carolina flag. The Crescent is still part of our flag, but it was joined by a Palmetto Tree in 1861.

So, after all the waiting for the second batch and the announcement it would be back in stock Mar17, Shawnee now shows as "currently unavailable" again.
My replacement coin has not shipped and it appears to me there is yet another delay.

If the US Mint was a private business or had any sort of competition here in the US...

Yeah, on another forum some are saying the backorder was just a lot of 159 returns and now that it's off backorder they just sold the returns and it's proof they aren't striking more. Personally I think the presses are running for Shawnee as we speak

I agree....it makes zero sense to put returns on backorder which implies (and states) that more product is being made/packaged.

If it was only returns it would have been the very common 0730a "there available again!" deal...

But...with that said...absolutely no clue why they would change it to unavailable...maybe new orders exceeded the run of new pucks and, as you said, they are banging the drum again (or not)

Yup..."available" to "currently unavailable" to "available but on backorder" to "currently unavailable" to "order as many as you want now"...

Sounds normal to me...
