I will admit that for the America the Beautiful designs I much prefer designs that feature, you know, America's natural beauty and don't include any historical figures. That includes Perry's Victory, Saratoga and now Cumberland Gap. An exception, of course, is Mt. Rushmore, and I'm torn on Gettysburg.

I guess the NPS has historical parks mixed in so not all scenery. I as well prefer the scenic ones but it is what it is.

Barry, what about teddy? I think he gets a pass for what he did on establishing national parks and preserving America's beauty.

I would agree with barryg about Perry's Victory and Saratoga, but I actually like the Cumberland Gap design. Maybe it is because I had never heard of the Cumberland Gap and its being the doorway to the west. The history lover in me likes it.

I'll have to wait until I see a Teddy in hand, but my warm personal feelings toward him won't change whether I like the design or not. As I said, I just really prefer designs that show off the natural beauty of the U.S.A. Homestead is another one I'm not crazy about, since it just shows a log cabin.
I have to admit, though, I've always liked the Hot Springs design. It doesn't depict natural beauty, but I just think it looks cool regardless.

I'm just starting on my set. My goal is to have a complete set by the time the series concludes. According to my estimates, the total cost will be about $14,000! That's assuming that silver stays about where it is which it probably won't.

At least the current coins are way less than the first few. I started collecting back with the first price drop so I don't have the first 4

Yes... collectors of this set have benefited from the precipitous drop in silver spot over the past few years. I'd really have to think twice on some of the designs at $280.
