Yes. I don't even know that I would have bought them at that pricepoint. I'm glad the price aligned itself closer to spot. This past year or so has had a wider cost/spot variance but they are still at a price that is not out of reach.

I received my three P Cumberland Gap coins now - all three have spots on both ob- and reverse (and I received my shipping notice before they went on sale). It seems like they were rinsed with something that left a residue behind (there is an obvious streak from a dried-on droplet). It's like someone cleaned them with a tissue full of snot...
There are also a couple of dings.
I'm seriously deliberating calling it a day and to just buy the bullion from now on.
Pathetic...

Send the back for replacement. It's a hassle, but the mint has no final QC.

My new P puck showed up yesterday and it looks pretty good, no issues from what I could see.
@ omxfl - sorry to hear about your coins, I hope you obtain some better replacements if you exchange them.

I have stopped buying these for a couple of reasons..
1: price point is way too high... 10 years from now these will be had as spot. They are bullion and not even a real coin.
2: My insurance company labels these and all other NCT as bullion objects and cover them differently.

1) Well it's been six years since the first issue and they are nowhere near spot yet...disagree 2) You need a new insurance company. So that 2008/7 W ASE that is valued at $400 is insured for $17 ? and on and on and on |

If your insurance company is valuing these as bullion, are they periodically adjusting your premium to reflect the change in the value of your "bullion" collection? I doubt it. It's time to find a new insurance company.

Most homeowner's insurance will only view coins at face and probably don't cover bullion. You usually have to get a rider if you want to insure your coins (and other collectibles) for what they're "worth"...then there are appraisals and such to justify said coverage.
Sounds bad but one must read the fine print. If you have a lot of electronics or art or tools or whatever and want to insure them, you're going to need to pay for a rider as that is above and beyond what is "normal" for an insurance policy. Coins aren't any different. You can't just buy a car and expect it to be added to your coverage; you have to pay for it.
Catalog (with photos) those coins!

Oh, and my P-Gap came in today! Solid, just a small ding on the obverse rim. Not enough to make me want to send it back.
And while I want silver to climb, I don't want the price of these pucks to go up.... but I guess the price languished at 150 long after it should have dipped as silver tanked, so hopefully the puck prices will stay here for a while longer.

I've used Collectibles Insurance Services to cover my firearms collection for years. You list out what you have and the value. They provide a quote which is much much better than you'll get from a typical homeowner's policy. http://collectinsure.com/However, it looks like they don't insure "bullion" and "gold". You'd need to call to see if they insure silver coins that have numismatic value. Edited by Bret
